Our objectives

The Indian government plays a greater role in the field of health care by implementing various programmes and schemes. Yet it has not achieved the desired goal, due to lack of awareness. The analysis of the preliminary study shows that the real problem in health care it is not on the scarcity of resources or inadequate clinical care programmes, but the lack of awareness and orientation in gathering health related information. Hence, the real need for the day is not only spending on programmes with a target fulfilment syndrome which would not help to realize the desired progress. Hence, we need a Health Information System that can educate and assess the information needs and use behaviour of rural women and provide information to make them active participation in health related programmes and thus approach health related issues more scientifically. . Realizing this need, the researchers are in the verge to bring Information System strategies for rural women which can give competitive edge to health information activities which is possible through this proposed project. As the outcome a prototype heath information system will be designed, executed and evaluated in perambalur District of Tamilnadu
